| About Joining the Choir | |

Many men and women in our churches today struggle to comprehend the purpose of singing in the church choir, perhaps because of a lack of teaching. If you wrestle with the sound of your voice or you don't completely understand the benefits of singing in the choir, here are 10 reasons we love to sing in the choir!
We love to sing in the choir because.
1. Worship welcomes the presence of the Lord When we lift our voice, we attract His attention. Moved by our action He will respond! 2. Worship connects me to God In James 4:8 we read, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to us." 3. Worship protects me from the adversary I believe a singing sanctuary is the safest room in the world. Praise and worship repel the adversarial advance and the enemy cannot invade God's supernatural presence. 4. Worship promotes the supernatural Paul and Silas, singing amid great danger in Acts 16, present a classic example of worship's power to invoke the supernatural on our behalf. Are you sick, SING Are you in danger, SING Are you perplexed, SING 5. Worship builds faith in times of fear The human frame is built with a flaw; we are all subject to fear. Fear is never a way in which the Lord leads us. Fear comes from an evil source. Singing songs of faith puts the enemy on the run! 6. Worship satisfies my loneliness Our society fosters lonely people. Our work is hectic and we relocate often. The results are broken relationships, addictive behaviors and success without satisfaction. Many come to church lonely and broken. A worship encounter can bring light into the meandering darkness many adults experience. 7. Worship releases a heart of gratitude Too rarely in life do we remember to say ?Thank you'! Being grateful for good things is a worthwhile habit to develop. Gratitude changes our posture. Being thankful releases spiritual blessing and combats the negative consequences of selfishness. 8. Worship refreshes my soul What is one of the most refreshing things you enjoy? The Bible indicates that seasons of refreshing accompanied the early church as they spent time in the presence of the Lord. In Psalm 97:5 we read, " The mountains melt like wax in the presence of the Lord." 9. Worship turns my woes into His words The church is frequently referred to as a hospital. The church is about binding up wounds and setting captives free. Regarding worship, the analogy holds merit because singing is like dialysis. 10. Worship reminds me of my benefits in Christ Singing obliterates spiritual amnesia. Amid our rough-n-tumble daily life we can obsess in the present and forget the victories of the past. But let us sing just one song that had a special significance during a former trial and we immediately sense God's character emerging into our current circumstance.
That's Why We Sing!
